Last week, the international seminar on audio description ARSAD was held in Barcelona. It is a meeting point for all stakeholders interested in audio description research and practice. Anna Matamala, from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and a member of the ImAc consortium, is the organizer of this conference that this year had a technology panel. The conference included talks on crowdsourced AD platforms, object-based audio, new technologies and immersive environments.
Anita Fidyka gave a talk on AD in 360º videos titled “Audio description in 360º videos: Results from preliminary tests”. It presented the results from pre-pilot tests conducted with AD end users in April last year in Spain and the UK.
