ImAc starts the new ISO/IEC Study Group on Accessiblity with Immersive Environments

Last July in Shanghai the plenary meeting of the ISO/TC IEC JTC1/S35 took place.

During the meeting Dr Pilar Orero presented results from ImAc about the possibility of starting a new study group on “Accessibility within immersive environments”. This was accepted and the group will be convened by Dr Pilar Orero, Professor Jee-In Kim and with an initial membership of: Dr David Fourney (Canada), Mr Andy Heath (UK), Mr Thorsten Katzmann (Germany), Pr. Linco Ma China), Dr Anna Matamala (Spain), Dr Yoshikazu Seki (Japan), Pr. Hongan Wang (China), Ms Qin Zhou (China), and Professor Gottfried Zimmermann (Germany). The study group will be named: ISO/IEC 20071-30 “Information technology — User interface component accessibility — Part 30: Accessibility guidance for immersive environments” and will be included in the other parts of the ISO/IEC 20071 series. A short preliminary report will be delivered to SC 35 at the upcoming SC 35 Plenary meeting in Busan in January 2020.
