The annual Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in Berlin is one of the world’s largest fairs for consumer electronics, addressing both professional visitors and the general public.
This year, the ImAc project was presented at the “Digitalen Welt der ARD” in hall 2.2. Visitors were invited to watch 360° demo videos using the latest version of the ImAc player. Once fully implemented, this tool will be one of the main project outcomes. It allows the integration of accessibility services such as subtitles, signer videos, audio description and audio subtitles into 360° videos.
The IFA visitors watched a making-of video of a popular RBB news programme enhanced with subtitles. They were able to use the guiding mechanisms that show the user the position of the current speaker within the 360° space. The necessity to provide this information to the user was one of the outcomes of the workshops conducted with users already at the beginning of the project.
The ImAc activities arose the interest of both younger and older visitors.
